Bracket and bead chain controls on a white double roller blind

Repairs and Replacements

Blind Repairs Frankston

A snapped cord or a chain that won’t catch doesn’t always mean a new blind. We take a look, fix what can be fixed and tell you honestly when it’s time to replace.

Common Blind Repairs

  • Re-Cording

Frayed or snapped cords on venetians and Roman blinds, restrung so the blind lifts evenly again.
  • Chains and Controls

Broken chains, slipping clutches and worn controls on roller and vertical blinds, replaced so the blind stays where you put it.
  • Replacing a Damaged Blind

When a blind is torn, sun-damaged or not worth fixing, we measure and replace it with a new one made to fit.

Repair or Replace?

Many faults are small: a cord, a chain or a control part. Fixing those is usually quicker and cheaper than a new blind. If the fabric is torn or faded, the slats are bent or the system is old enough that parts are hard to find, a replacement is often the better value, and we will tell you so.

Wayne has worked with blinds and curtains for more than 25 years, starting out cleaning them, and over that time customers came to him more and more for advice, repairs and installation. Call 0414 614 555 or send us a few details and we’ll take a look.

Looking After Your Blinds

A little care keeps blinds working for longer. Dust or wipe them regularly, raise and lower them with the cord or chain rather than by hand, and keep cords untangled. Our post on how often to clean your blinds has more tips.

If a repair is not worth it, see our roller blinds, venetian blinds and the full product range.

FAQs

Can a broken blind cord be fixed?

Usually, yes. Frayed or snapped cords on venetians and Roman blinds can often be restrung so the blind lifts evenly again.

My roller blind chain has broken. Do I need a new blind?

Not always. A broken chain or a worn control can often be replaced on its own. If the fabric or the tube is damaged, a new blind may be better value.

Is it worth repairing an old blind?

If the fabric or slats are in good condition and the fault is a cord, chain or control, a repair usually makes sense. If the blind is torn, faded or the parts are no longer made, a replacement is often the better choice. We will tell you honestly.

Do you repair blinds you didn’t install?

Tell us what the blind is and what has gone wrong, and we will let you know whether we can help.

Is a repair covered by your guarantee?

Blinds we supply and install come with our five-year guarantee on products and workmanship. If something goes wrong with one of ours, we come out and put it right.

Can you replace a damaged blind with a matching one?

We can measure the window and make a new blind to fit, and bring samples so you can match the colour and fabric of your other blinds as closely as possible.
